Looks like Florida and Orlando is out of the picture, at lest for the 2009 vacation. We`ve had several family discussions, and we came up with a very different suggestion, but we still want to do Orlando again in 2010.

So 2009 is going to be a straight European vacation, hopefully quite different from the experiences the Griswolds had on their National Lampoon`s flick. With any luck, we`ll avoid the gruesome fate of the unfortunate participants of "Hostel" as well. ;-)

So, what we came up with (and this is a very rough outline) is ; Denmark - Germany - Czech Republic - Slovakia - Hungary - Croatia - Austria - Italy - Switzerland - France - Belgium - Germany again - Denmark again - and home.

A very long trip, and at lest a full 3 week tour, but there`s a lot of sights in all of these countries and we think it will be a great experience. Summer is still a long seven months away, but with extensive planning I think we`ll have a nice holiday. The route may change along the way though. It always does.

December is soon gone, but winter certainly isn`t. Travel plans change with the seasons, and at the moment we dream of the warm Orlando summer. The advantage of the Norwegian winter months is that you have very long nights to let your mind work, and planning summer activities is a good way of forgetting the dark nights and cold days for a while.
