Pointers

I can imagine this trip takes a little planning ahead.
I have read a couple of books as research and still have a few websites to explore..

Hoping for pointers by anyone who has done this trip, wanted to do it, has planned on doing it or lives close to it. Somebody must have tips on what too see, what not to miss, suggestions to litterature worth reading, websites that could be useful and so on.
